Harambee is a 24 voice A Cappella choir from Melbourne, Australia. Highly acclaimed and know as one of Australia's leading A Cappella choirs, Harambee has been singing together since 2002. With primarily a Pop A Cappella focus they do sing a variety of world and contemporary music.
Harambee were finalists in Channel 7's Battle of the Choirs in 2008 and have toured interstate several timesincluding participation in the 2010 Festival of Voices in Tasmaina.
On the 7th of August 2010 launched their first Acappella Pop album 'In Your Head...'at the Thornhury Theatre. See the CDs webpage for more information & on how to get your copy.
Harambee has had an exciting start to 2011. In both March and June they performed at Vocal Australia's A cappella showcase at Bella Union and on monday 16th of May were awarded equal first place (alongside Vocal Consort) at the Booroondara Eisteddfod. Harambee @ Spenserslive in June was an absolute hit and a fun night was had by all. We're currently enjoying a well deserved break before beginning the preparations for the second half of 2011.
Newsflash: In 2012 Harambee will turn 10! Stay tuned for details of the upcoming festivities.
